Excelerate.
A secure, scalable assessment platform designed to protect exam integrity under organizational load.
Context.
A company-wide Excel proficiency assessment needed stronger controls and reliable delivery at scale. The previous setup made malpractice easier, introduced inconsistent testing conditions, and increased review overhead for administrators.
Challenge.
The system had to support many simultaneous candidates while reducing common integrity failures such as question sharing and attempt-rule violations. It also had to stay simple for administrators managing high-volume sessions.
Solution.
I designed and delivered a secure assessment flow with predictable behavior and integrity guardrails.
- Controlled test flow with explicit attempt rules and timing consistency.
- Structured question randomization to reduce answer coordination.
- Candidate experience optimized for legibility and low friction on mobile and desktop.
- Admin-side visibility designed for reliable monitoring and post-session audits.
My role.
I owned product direction and implementation decisions end-to-end.
- Defined integrity risks and mapped each risk to system guardrails.
- Designed candidate and admin interface hierarchy for clarity under pressure.
- Prioritized reliability under load as a non-negotiable technical constraint.
Impact.
- 200+ concurrent assessments, zero failures.
- Reduced risk exposure through consistent delivery and randomized question flow.
- Lowered admin workload through predictable monitoring patterns.
Artifacts.
- Private demo walkthrough available on request.
- Redacted candidate and admin flow screenshots available on request.
- Public-safe overview package available on request.
Lessons.
- Reliability creates trust faster than visual complexity.
- Integrity systems work best when controls are explicit and predictable.
- Security-focused experiences should remain calm for honest users.
